the scientist创作背景

创作专辑《A Rush of Blood to the Head》时，酷玩乐队主唱克里斯·马汀总感觉少了些什么。于是，克里斯·马汀在英国利物浦一间昏暗的小屋子里用一架走调的旧钢琴进行了创作。起初，克里斯·马汀想以乔治·哈里森的歌曲《Isn't It a Pity》为创作模板来写歌，但他始终无法写出满意的作品。随后，他立马创作出了《The Scientist》。单曲封面为酷玩乐队鼓手威尔·查平的头部扫描图。
