的日常生活、学习和工作息息相关，特别是对那些即将走出国门的人来说，这些内容给他们提供了必不可

少的语言和背景知识。在选材上注重AuthenticEnglish， 目的在于使读者不但能听懂播音员照本宣读式

的正式英语，同时也为他们提供大量的真实性英语，使他们对异国他乡的英语不会感到陌生。

本书分学生用书和教师用书两部分。学生用书主要是练习，同时配有词汇表、插图及少量补充练习。教

师用书含录音原文、练习答案及原文译文三部分。

这本书题材广泛，知识性强，实用面广，训练技能全面，练习形式多样，语言自然、生动、活泼，适

合中等以上水平的读者，并可做听力课教材。

此书对国外的TOEFL、IELTS考试及国内的PETS（Pub1icEnglishTestSystem）考试，即全国公共英

语等级考试，都极有帮助。PETS即原全国外语水平考试WSK・英语水平考试EPT。

本书的练习有多项选择（MultipleChoice）、正误判断（TrueorFa1se）以及简短回答问题等形式，

而这些练习形式正是PETS、IELTS及TOEFL听力考试的试题形式。对于PETS考试来说，此书适合于3―5

级的考生。

本书作者是北京语言文化大学（原北京语言学院）出国人员外语培训部英语教研究室的老师，多年从

事英语听力教学，经验丰富，熟悉PETS、TOEFL及IELTS等考试。
